METHOD FOR TREATING LARGE QUANTITY OF WASTE GAS CONTAINING THIN VOLATILE HYDROCARBON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a large quantity of waste gas containing a thin concentration of volatile hydrocarbon, which enables the emission of no carbon dioxide gas and very easy recovery of volatile hydrocarbon contained in the waste gas in form of a liquid and is accordingly used to accomplish "zero-emission" of the volatile hydrocarbon.

SOLUTION: The method is for treating a waste gas using "an adsorption apparatus (adsorption towers 7a and 7b) comprising adsorption layers filled with pre-coated meso-pore activated carbon" by reciprocally switching adsorption and desorption and before the treatment by the adsorption apparatus, the concentration of the volatile hydrocarbon contained in a thin concentration in the waste gas is concentrated by "a pretreatment apparatus (honeycomb type rotor 11 or fixed type honeycomb) comprising an adsorbent layer filled with pre-coated meso-pore activated carbon".
