Production of an at least three component alloy (I) of predetermined composition involves: (a) determining selectivity constants for all binary alloys formed from the components of (I), (b) preparing an electrolyte solution containing ions of all of the components, in concentrations based on the binary alloy selectivity constants and (c) depositing (I) from the solution.
