PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To release an operator from troublesome work of squeezing a process liquid on a guide roller pair and to achieve efficient development. SOLUTION: A photographic processing apparatus 10 is equipped with a process tank 51 charged with a process liquid to process a photographic paper sheet R2, wherein the process tank 51 is provided with entrance side sponge rollers 72 to hold the photographic paper sheet R2 between them and guide the sheet R2 into to the process tank 51, and exit side sponge rollers 73 to hold the processed photographic paper sheet R2 between them and guide the sheet R2 from the process tank 51. At least the exit side sponge roller 73 is provided with a squeezing means 80 to squeeze out the process liquid absorbed by the exit side sponge roller 73. The squeezing means 80 comprises a squeezing cylinder 81 which is fitted to the outside of the exit side sponge roller 73 and has an inner diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the exit side sponge roller 73, and a moving mechanism 82 to move the squeezing cylinder 81 in the axial direction of the exit side sponge roller 73.
