PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spark plug in which Pb content quantity in a glaze can be greatly reduced, thereby complying with the increasing trend of environmental protection. SOLUTION: In the glazing layer 2d of a spark plug 100, the total content of alkaline metal component is contained to 12 wt.% or less (including 0 wt.%), the content of B component is contained to 20-35 wt.% in oxide conversion of B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, and Ti and Zr are blended in the ratio of 2-10 wt.% in oxide conversion weight respectively.
