PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC socket having a small operation load for fixing an IC to easily install/uninstall the surface-mounting type IC. SOLUTION: This IC socket has: a housing 14 detachably installed with the surface-mounting type IC 12, and formed such that the housing 14 can load the IC 12; a plurality of groove parts 24 formed inside a side wall of the housing 14 such that lead terminals 22 of the IC 12 can fit in them; and storage grooves 16 communicating with the groove parts 24, formed in side faces of the housing 14. The IC socket has a plurality of contacts 30 provided in each the groove part 24 such that the lead terminals 22 can abut on the contacts 30, and each made of electroconductive elastic body. The IC socket has levers 34 locked to the housing 14, slidably fitted in the storage grooves 16 from the outer side, abutting each the lead terminal 22 onto the surface of each contact 30, and holding it.
