PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric contact material manufacturing method and an electric contact material capable of appropriately setting amount of graphite on the surface of a metal body. SOLUTION: A photosensitive drum 13 is charged with electricity by a static charging mechanism 14, the photosensitive drum 13 after the static charging is rotated for a given number of times, and then, an exposure mechanism 15 irradiates light on the photosensitive drum 13 to form a latent electrostatic image on the surface of the drum 13. The photosensitive drum 13 is further rotated with a prescribed angle, a development mechanism 16 develops charged graphite particles on the photosensitive drum, and the graphite particles are adhered to the latent electrostatic image of the photosensitive drum. Next, a part with the graphite particles adhered of the photosensitive drum 13 is made rotated up to a position where it faces a sample 11, and a transfer mechanism 17 transfers the graphite particles to the sample 11 by giving reverse charge on the rear surface of the sample 11.
