The invention relates to a method for operating a gas turbine (11) in a combined power plant (40) as well as a gas turbine for carrying out said method. According to the inventive method, air is sucked in and compressed by the gas turbine, the compressed air is fed to a combustion chamber (18, 19) in order to burn a synthetic gas obtained from a fossil fuel, and the gases produced during the combustion process are expanded in a downstream turbine (16, 17). In order to obtain greater efficiency in such a method, a reheated gas turbine (11) is used which comprises two combustion chambers (18, 19) and two turbines (16, 17). Synthetic gas is burned in the first combustion chamber (18) with the aid of the compressed air, and the hot gases produced are expanded in the first turbine (16) while synthetic gas is burned in the second combustion chamber with the aid of the gases discharged from the first turbine (16), and the hot gases produced are expanded in the second turbine (17).
