PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous secondary battery in which charge and discharge irreversible capacity at the initial cycle time is sufficiently small, even if the active material layer having a negative electrode active material material on the current collector is made high density in order to obtain high capacity.

SOLUTION: This is a graphite composite particle for non-aqueous secondary battery which satisfies the following requirements (1), (2). (1) When the volume reference median size measured by a laser diffraction/dispersion type particle distribution measurement device is made DLμm, and the average circle equivalent particle size as obtained by measured area S of particles of which outline profile does not overlap with other particles in SEM is made DS, DL/DSis larger than 1 and 2 or less, (2) when the ratio of intensity IB/IAof the intensity IAat the maximum peak in the vicinity of 1580 cm-1and the intensity IBat the maximum peak in the vicinity of 1360 cm-1in the Raman spectrum is made a Raman R value, the Raman R value is 0.04 or more and 0.14 or less.
