<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range finder, a sound filed setting method, and a surround system for optimally setting a surround sound field. <P>SOLUTION: The surround system 10 forms a surround sound field by the reproducing audio signals S1 to S5 of each channel output from an audio signal reproducing device 9 from arranged speakers SP1 to SP5, and is configured to include: the range finder 1A that measures distances L1 to L5 from a listening point LP to each speaker, transmits distance data D1 to D5 to the audio signal reproducing device 9, and utilizes the automatic focus function of a camera and a USB connection; and the audio signal reproducing device 9 that acquires and compares the transmitted distance data D1 to D5, generates sound volume adjustment data and delay time setting data of the audio signals S1 to S5 of each channel and controls a sound volume and a delay time applied to the audio signals S1 to S5 in accordance with the sound volume adjustment data and the delay time setting data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
