PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid breaking down of a boot by preventing a tightening band from interfering to the boot in the boot for a universal joint. SOLUTION: In the boot for the universal joint 40 which is adapted to make it possible to seal connection space 20A of the universal joint 20 which connects two shaft 11, 12, which is made of a flexible material, which includes a larger-diameter attachment part 41 attached on one shaft side, a smaller-diameter attachment part 42 attached on the other shaft side and a bent part 43 between the larger- and smaller-diameter attachment parts 41, 42 and which attaches the smaller-diameter attachment part 42 on the other shaft side by the tightening band 50 which covers an annular part 44 of outer periphery of the smaller-diameter attachment part 42, the boot is adapted to provide on both sides of the annular part 44 of the smaller-diameter attachment part 42 projection parts 45, 46 which protrude radially outward of a junction protuberance 52A of the tightening band 50.
