PLASMA DISPLAY DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce the number of scan circuits by reducing the number of electrodes by enabling sustain and scan electrodes to share two adjacent display lines, and to stabilize discharge during a main reset period. A plasma display device includes a PDP(Plasma Display Panel) and a driver. The PDP includes plural first and second electrodes and plural third electrodes crossing the first and second electrodes. The driver applies a voltage on the PDP during a first period, so that the voltage difference between the first and second electrodes is greater than a first voltage. During a first sub-field, the first voltage is alternately applied on the first and second electrodes during a sustain period by applying a first address scheme. A light emitting cell is converted to a non-light emitting cell by the first address scheme. During a second sub-field, a second address scheme, which converts the non-light emitting cell to the light emitting cell, is applied. The first period is arranged between the first and second sub-fields.
