FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, possibly steel production in oxygen converters with upper blowing. ^ SUBSTANCE: process comprises steps of loading scrap steel; pouring melt cast iron and blowing with oxygen; at blowing, if necessary providing additional heat transfer to converter by means of plasma arc; after oxidizing carbon to predetermined degree loading dozes of solid alloying materials into converter; melting each doze of said materials by action of plasma arc between oxygen lance and metal bath. ^ EFFECT: increased consumption of scrap steel at melting of high-alloy steel.
