The invention essentially concerns a cable stripping device having a centring device with a number of centring jaws (8) which exceeds preferably by at least two a number of blade-holders with blades (23, 25, 26) located in the immediate proximity of the centring jaws, acting independently therefrom in the radial direction and rotatable independently therefrom about a rotational axis. The number and arrangement of the centring jaws (8) in relation to the blade-holders with blades (23, 25, 26) is such that when the blades carry out a rotary cutting movement, a phase shift occurs in the interaction between the blade-holders with blades (23, 25, 26) and the centring jaws (8). This has an attenuating or compensating effect on the vibrations produced in the cable to be stripped, thus enhancing cutting precision. Special configurations of the blades and centring jaws, as well as of their computer-assisted control, are also disclosed. |
