摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trigonometrical range-finding type photoelectric sensor for properly using a first operation mode for canceling the effect of the color of a physical object and a second operation mode for providing higher detection resolution. SOLUTION: This trigonometrical range-finding type photoelectric sensor is equipped with a light projecting part, a light receiving part comprising a light receiving element for receiving reflected light from the physical object, and a main control part for finding a distance to the physical object by finding a light receiving spot position on a light receiving surface of the light receiving element or the gravity center position of received light amount distribution while outputting the result of a comparison of the distance with a reference distance, and uses a two-piece PD as the light receiving element. With respect to a process for detecting the distance to the physical object or displacement thereof based on a difference between two received light amounts obtained from the two-piece PD, this photoelectric sensor is equipped with the first operation mode for detecting the distance to the physical object or displacement thereof by using a value obtained by normalization operation processing in which the difference between the light amounts is divided by the sum of the two light amounts, and the second operation mode for detecting the displacement of the physical object by using the difference between the two light amounts, as it is, obtained from the two-piece PD.
