PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printing apparatus capable of ensuring uniformity by using printing paper narrower than the overall width of the exposure area of an exposure head. SOLUTION: The printing apparatus includes a test chart forming means. The test chart forming means shifts a printing-paper magazine MA to one end in a main scanning direction, thereby feeding printing paper P to the exposure position X of an exposure head, where first chart exposure is conducted. Then, the test chart forming means rewinds the printing paper P around the printing-paper magazine MA. Next, with the printing paper P kept rewound, the test chart forming means shifts the printing-paper magazine MA to the other end such that the printing paper P is conveyed out. Subsequently, the test chart forming means cuts the printing paper P into a test chart size with a cutter unit 22, feeds it to the exposure position X where second charge exposure is conducted.
