PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in image quality and frequency of occurrence of poor conveyance resulting from deformation of a sheet with print on the surface, in an ink jet recorder making printing on the front and rear surfaces of the sheet. SOLUTION: When image information of printing on the front and rear surfaces is received, printing rate of the image information on the front surface is compared with printing rate of the image information on the rear surface. If the printing rate of image information on the front surface is higher than that on the rear surface, print processing is performed by replacing the image information on the front surface with the rear surface.
