PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating agent for processing polytrimethylene terephthalate-based fiber which is a water-dispersed polyester resin improved in compatibility with a polytrimethylene terephthalate-based fiber and excellent in stability and to provide a polytrimethylene terephthalate fiber to which functions excellent in washing resistance and durability, particularly excellent stain-proofing property and water-absorbing property are imparted by using the treating agent. SOLUTION: The treating agent for processing polytrimethylene terephthalate-based fiber is obtained by dispersing a polyester resin obtained by copolymerizing 1,3-propylene glycol with a polyalkylene glycol (A) having 600-6,000 number-average molecular weight as essential components into water.
