<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbonized fiber directly taking over properties and form which each raw material had originally before carbonization, improved in an oil-absorbing property after carbonization, compared with an oil-absorbing property before carbonization, enabling recycling as an absorbing material for oil by carrying out separation treatment by vacuum heating after absorption of oil and using, as a raw material, a natural fiber and to provide a method for producing the carbonized fiber. <P>SOLUTION: The carbonized fiber is obtained by heat-treating a natural fiber under negative pressure to carbonize the natural fiber and retains properties and shape which natural fiber before carbonization treatment had. The absorption amount of oil is increased and multiple recycling is made possible by using the carbonized fiber as an absorbing material for oil. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
