<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of steadily forming images, even narrow lines, when making a copy on the back of paper and capable of meeting users' demand for a cost reduction. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: back paper recognition devices 64 and 65 capable of recognizing images formed on the side of a recording medium P, which is opposite to the side to be subject to image formation; and a latent image forming means 17 for forming a latent image on a latent image carrier 9 with a plurality of resolutions. In the image forming apparatus, when a determination is made that the recording medium P has an image on the opposite side thereof, the back paper recognition devices 64 and 65 set a latent image on the latent image carrier 9 to lower resolutions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
