PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter element which is suitable to be used as an element to bypass a common mode noise. SOLUTION: The filter element includes a drum typed core 110 which has a winding core 130 and a first and second flanges 141, 142 located on both edges, a first and second terminal electrodes 151, 152 which are formed on the first flange 141, and a third and fourth terminal electrodes 153, 154 which are formed on the second flange 142. The first coil 121 wound around the winding core 130 is wound with one end 121a as a starting point counterclockwise, and the end 121a is connected to the first terminal electrode 151, and another end 121b is connected to the terminal electrode 153. The second coil 122 wound around the winding core 130 is wound with one end 122a as a starting point clockwise, and the end 122a is connected to the second terminal electrode 152, and another 122b is connected to the fourth terminal electrode 154.
