PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focusing end plane indicator that can prevent wasteful operations, even when focusing by using an endless controller by indicating that the focusing position the operator manually inputs is at a very near or infinite position in a television broadcast photographing system. SOLUTION: The manually operated focusing knob 42 has no end point and a relative position sensing encoder 44 detects the turning angle of the knob in the focus demand 40, which is a focusing means. The focus demand 40 outputs a focusing instruction to the lens system 10 and instructs the target focusing position, corresponding to the turned position of the focusing knob 42. When the instructed focusing position is very close or at infinite distance, LED 52 or LED 54 is turned on, respectively, indicating a very close or at infinite distance end position on the focusing end plane indicator 20.
