PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To aim at lightening and clear dyeability in separation, and to easily provide highly profiled polyester separated yarn, fabrics and cushioning materials. SOLUTION: The profiled polyester multifilament for separation is polyester filaments comprising a modified polyester obtained by adding at least one quaternary onium salt to a polyester copolymerized with 0.1-10 mol% phosphonium sulfonate, which onium salt is 0.1-20.0 mol% amount based on the phosphonium sulfonate and practically not reactive with polyester, and which filament has a radially projecting section of the single fiber and comprises plural fins radially projecting and continuing along the longitudinal direction of the core part, and satisfies the following (1) and (2) conditions. The conditions are; (1) the number of fins radially projecting from the fiber section core part is≥3 but≤6, and (2) the profile coefficient of the section is 20-70%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
