PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic dictionary capable of dissolving the following inconvenience to surely obtain retrival result in a second retrieval: when performing first retrieval by use of a first dictionary and when continuously performing the second retrieval by use of a second dictionary, a user feels inconvenience in the dictionary retrieval when a retrieval result cannot be obtained in the second retrieval. SOLUTION: This electronic dictionary having an input means inputting a search word, and a dictionary data storage part storing at least one piece of dictionary data has: a first retrieval means performing the first retrieval of the search word by first dictionary data; a storage means storing a retrieval result of the first retrieval means; a second retrieval means extracting a retrievable entry word about the retrieval result by second dictionary data; and a display means displaying the extracted entry word.
