PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector having an opening and a projection mirror which is equipped with functions for detecting a foreign matter infiltrating into the light path of display light emitted from an opening lens and for performing lamp turn-off and power turn-off in the dangerous case. SOLUTION: The projector 1 whose case body 2 is equipped with an opening 3 wherein the display light 6 outgoing from the opening lens 4 is reflected on the projection mirror 5 and projected so as to be magnified to an external screen 11 is provided with a sensor circuit in which a sidewall 7 of the case body 2 is equipped with a sensor light emitting part 8, a mirror 9 and a sensor light receiving part 10, sensor light is emitted from the sensor light emitting part 8 across the light path of the display light 6, reflected on an opposite mirror 9 and received by the sensor light receiving part 10.
