PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve transmission efficiency while retaining a function to eliminate a delayed wave caused by the addition of a guard zone. SOLUTION: A subtractor 122 calculates channel quality using an optimal guard interval length detection signal inserted into one carrier, the optimal guard interval length detector 123 calculates a minimum guard zone length necessary for eliminating the delayed wave by using the calculated channel quality, then a switch 203 inserts the calculated guard interval length as a control signal into the one carrier.
