PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microstrip antenna with a simple configuration which has low power loss and can efficiently radiate radio waves in a desired direction. SOLUTION: The microstrip antenna is provided with a feeding element, non-feeding elements, and a grounding means for switching whether the non-feeding elements are grounded or not. An antenna body, a spacer, a digital circuit unit, a spacer, and an analog circuit unit are arranged in this order on the back surface side of the antenna body. For the spacers having a shape surrounding a feeding line, one spacer is caused to contact a ground electrode on the back surface of the antenna body and a ground electrode on the front surface of the digital circuit unit, and the other spacer is caused to contact a ground electrode of the back surface of the digital circuit unit and a ground electrode on the front surface of the analog circuit unit. This configuration can ensure excellent antenna characteristics, reduce power loss, and enables to efficiently radiate the radio waves in a desired direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
