A method for minimizing the number of hops of a sensor network is provided to improve the overall communication efficiency by detecting only the RF power strength and directions of other sensor nodes to form a communication path. A sensor node searches other sensor nodes for transferring information. In this case, the sensor node measures the RF power strength and directions from the other sensor nodes and searches a sensor node for transmitting information. A sensor node positioned relatively farther than the closest sensor node among the other sensor nodes is selected as an information transfer path and transfers information therethrough. In this case, the sensor node selects the sensor node having the RF power strength smaller than the closest sensor node as the information transfer path.
