<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system capable of performing printing from a thin client by taking data leakage into consideration. <P>SOLUTION: The printing system is provided with a thin client 100, a printer 110, a server 20 for performing data storage and application processing to send processing results to the thin client 100 on the basis of an instruction from the thin client 100. When there is a print instruction from a user 130 who uses the thin client 100, the server 20 acquires printer information on the printer 110 for printing, generates print data according to the printer information and the print instruction from the user 130, generates watermark information based on the information on the user 130, embeds the watermark information in the print data by the print instruction, and transmits it to the thin client 100.
