<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily prevent reduction of an authentication rate by a change or the like of a face by aging, and to make update of a registration face image or illegal face authentication by another person difficult to improve security. <P>SOLUTION: This face authentication device 1 has: a guidance mirror 13 used for confirming a position of the face of a photographic subject oneself by the photographic subject; an illumination part 10 illuminating the photographic subject; a photographing part 20 photographing a face image of the photographic subject; a data processing part 40 performing data processing such as authentication processing by use of the face image photographed by the photographing part 20; and a data transmission/reception part 50 exchanging electronic data with the outside.
