In colored films prepared by rolling molten plastics to a film in a calender (7), at least one other molten plastics component with a different color is added and the plastics components of different colors are rolled together (and thus partially mixed) in the calender. An independent claim is included for apparatus for producing a colored film, consisting of plastics melting device (1) and a calender (7) for rolling the molten plastics to a film, which includes at least one further melting device (12) for melting another plastics component with a different color and at least one device (14) for supplying the different colored molten plastics into the plastics in the calender.
