PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method surely recognizing an object to be conveyed that flows on a conveying means. SOLUTION: By matching previously and presently picked-up images with reference images respectively in an image processing means 5, actual gap amounts of the object 2 on the basis of a reference position in the previous image and in the present image are respectively detected. By adding an image pickup interval L to the actual gap amount of in the previous pick-up image, an estimated gap amount in the present pick-up image is calculated. The difference d between the estimated gap amount in the present image and the actual gap amount in the previous image is determined. When the difference d is a predetermined allowable value D or less, it is determined that the object in the previous image and the object in the present image are the same.
