PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strut-type shock-absorber having a structure in which a damper can always smoothly come in or come out of an outer-tube in the come-in/out operation. SOLUTION: In the strut-type shock-absorber, a dumper 5 in an inverted state is inserted so as to freely come in and out through bearing members 11, 12 placed on the side of the outer-tube 3, and the tip end of the piston rod inserted so as to freely come in and out of the damper 5 is jointed to the lower part 7 of the outer tube 3. A lubricating-oil-drop prevention member 19 is placed onto the side of the part 7 lower than the lower-side bearing member 11. Thus, the lubricating oil O which is furnished between the outside periphery of the damper 5 opposite to the lower side 7 with regard to the lubricating-oil-drop prevention member 19 and the inside periphery of the outer tube 3 is prevented from dropping onto the side of the lower part 7. A lubricating-oil smearing member 16 for furnishing the oil O onto the outside periphery of the damper 5 is provided at least either between the lubricating-oil-drop prevention member 19 and the lower side bearing member 11, or to the bearing member 11.
