The piping core material (10), consisting of moulded synthetic resin cable (11), strip (12) and hooks (16), has the hook layer (14) made from a material with a hardness greater than that of the cable or strip. The cable and strip are made from an elastomer resin material and the hooks from a thermoplastic. The hooks are located continuously or intermittently over a flat layer covering the whole surface of the cable section and/or strip section of the core.
