PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for readily manufacturing a developing blade of high quality having an elastic member (a blade member) of a uniform thickness, and a method for manufacturing the developing blade with which cost reduction in recycling of a developing device is made attainable. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the developing blade equipped with a blade member along one end side of a supporting member includes a step of using an upper mold 2 having a mold surface formed with a cavity 4 for forming the blade member, a gate 9 communicating with the cavity and a lower mold 3 having a plane mold surface, mating and clamping the upper mold 2 and the lower mold 3 in such a manner that the cavity 4 is closed by the supporting member 12, and pouring a molding material into the cavity 4 from the gate 9. The cavity 4 of the upper mold 2 includes a cavity main part 5 for molding the blade member, a cavity pouring section 6 placed near one end of the cavity main part 5 and situated with the gate 9 and a cavity reservoir section 7 placed near the other end of the cavity main part 5.
