PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method with which potassium niobate single crystal elements having superior wavelength conversion efficiency by suppressing scatter of light and multidomain structure formation, can be manufactured while facilitating handling when the potassium niobate single crystal elements are manufactured, protecting an optical surface against a flaw due to a mechanical shock etc., and forming the elements with a desired external shape while maintaining the excellent optical surface. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the manufacturing method of potassium niobate single crystal elements with which the potassium niobate single crystal elements are obtained by cutting a multidomain-treated potassium niobate single crystal in a prescribed azimuth to a prescribed size, by forming a light-transmissive surface composed of its light incidence surface and light projection surface into the optical surface by carrying out optical polishing and forming an antireflective film, and by cutting the single crystal into dice at right angles to the optical surface.
