PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp in which, in a structure where a glass bulb is bent after formation of a phosphor layer, the phosphor layer hardly causes cracking or peel-off even in the bent parts with a small radius of curvature, thus offering a good appearance. SOLUTION: This fluorescent lamp includes: a glass bulb 1 having bent parts; a protective film 2 having a fine grain layer 2a comprising fine grains of average grain size at most 100 nm and attached to an inner surface of the glass bulb, and large-sized grains some of which are buried in the fine grain layer 2a, the other large-sized grains projecting from the fine grain layer 2a; a phosphor layer 3 formed on the protective film 2 of the glass bulb 1; discharge inducing means 4, 4 sealed in both ends of the glass bulb 1; and a discharge medium sealed in the glass bulb 1.
