PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing organic pigment particles suppressing secondary aggregation of the particles when the pigment particles are produced by a liquid-phase method. SOLUTION: The method for producing the organic pigment particles with which organic pigment nano-particles are produced is carried out as follows. A solution containing the organic pigment dissolved in a good solvent is mixed with a poor solvent for the organic pigment compatible with the solvent to produce the organic pigment nano-particles in the mixture liquid. In the process, (1) a nitrogen-containing high polymer and (2) at least one kind of compound selected from the compound group consisting of the following groups A and B are included in the mixture liquid to produce the organic pigment nano-particles.
