PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a top view image forming device and its display method, capable of eliminating discontinuous misalignments in top view images and facilitating a driver to grasp states around his/her own vehicle. SOLUTION: When the top view of his/her own vehicle 12 and circumferences of the own vehicle 12 viewed from an upward virtual visual point is created, the top view image is so processed as to align a widthαof a display area 13 of a lateral portion of a 3D object in a side top view image created based on an image picked by a side camera 2b with a widthβof the display area 13 of the lateral portion of the 3D object in a rear top view image which is created based on an image picked by a rear camera 2c. Therefore, a position of the 3D object in the top view image can be aligned, and a comfortable top view image with no occurrence of misalignment can be created.
