The carrier (1) has front and rear sides and is formed by a surface unit, which comprises two layers. The front side of the surface unit forms an upper surface layer, on which several samples (7, 8, 9) are attached. The upper surface layer comprises several areas, which are enclosed by discontinuous lines (5) e.g. broken lines or dotted lines. The discontinuous lines cut through the material of the upper surface layer into a bigger part based on the layer thickness. A thin layer in the form of a self-adhesive label is glued on the carrier, when the carrier gets damaged. An independent claim is also included for a sample card with a sample carrier.
