<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a seal member from dropping from a seal groove in assembly. <P>SOLUTION: This polymer electrolyte fuel cell is provided with: an electrolyte membrane/electrode assembly being an assembly of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 1 and electrodes 2; a pair of separators 4 arranged on both its sides; and seal members 5 for preventing leakage of a reaction gas or cooling water flowing through medium circulation grooves 7 and 8 formed on the separators 4; and has seal grooves 4a for housing the seal members 5 formed in the separators 4. A seal fixing part 5a for preventing the seal member 5 from dropping from the seal groove 4a in assembling the polymer electrolyte fuel cell is formed in each seal member 5. More specifically, the seal fixing part 5a is elastically deformed in attaching the seal member 5 to the seal groove 4a; the elastically-deformed seal fixing part 5a presses a side face of the seal groove 4a in attaching the seal member 5 to the seal groove 4a; and thereby the dropping of the seal member 5 from the seal groove 4a is prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
