<p>The carrier (1) has a cross beam (11) forming a load carrying surface. A load carrier unit is rotatably arranged with respect to the cross beam to form another surface. The latter load carrying surface is provided infront of the former surface. The latter load carrying surface is viewed in the normal traveling direction of the motor vehicle. The load carrier unit is rotatably arranged with respect to the cross beam to form third load carrying surface. The third surface is located behind the former load carrying surface and is viewed in the normal traveling direction of the motor vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle with a load carrier.</p>
