PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control to displace mechanical elements (such as a synchronizing ring, a gear and a shaft) in a transmission at suitable speed in the transmission performing shift switching control by the assistance of pneumatic pressure controlled by an electric motor or an electric valve. SOLUTION: When the mechanical element is started following the position control of the mechanical element in the transmission, the moving speed of the mechanical element is computed, and a current supplied to the electric motor or the electric valve is controlled so that the moving speed is zero or within a predetermined range.
