PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform shading processing with high precision and a small operation load by efficiently generating a BRDF of cloth with high precision from measurement data obtained from one incidence direction. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus for rendering a virtual three-dimensional model generated in a virtual three-dimensional space is equipped with a parameter setting means 203 of setting parameters including a virtual incidence direction and a virtual view direction to an arbitrary position of the virtual three-dimensional model, an arithmetic means 204 of computing a specular reflection component in the virtual incidence direction and virtual view direction to the arbitrary position of the virtual three-dimensional model based upon a bidirectional reflection distribution function (BRDF) obtained from a reference anisotropic reflection distributionρ0actually measured while an incidence direction is fixed right above an actual cloth material, and a shading processing means 205 of performing shading processing for the arbitrary position of the virtual three-dimensional model by using the specular reflection component.
