<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a user friendly content output unit in which operability is enhanced while reducing power consumption by changing the conditions of image display and voice output depending on time information. <P>SOLUTION: Using time information obtained by a clock 16 or time information included in the broadcast wave signal of digital broadcast received by a tuner 12, the content output unit controls display image and voice output dependent on that time information according to predetermined conditions. For example, a video image displayed on an LCD 19 is made dark relatively in the time zone of night of one day, and made bright relatively in the time zone of day. It can be regulated by processing the luminance of a video signal or emission luminance of a backlight 21 may be regulated.
