PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable normal/reverse rotation of a switch back roller 3 with a simple and inexpensive configuration and low electric power at a low noise level. SOLUTION: A reduction gear train for supplying rotational drive force from a drive source 230 to the switch back roller 3 performing switch back conveyance by inverting a conveyance direction of recording media comprises a planetary gear mechanism 200. A drive connection means 221 enabling intermitting of a drive transmission action is provided between the planetary gear mechanism 200 and the drive source 230 to perform intermittent control. Thus, the switch back roller 3 can be controlled to be normally/reversely rotated without providing a conventional motor dedicated to normal/reverse rotation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
