PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device capable of detecting the inclination of a car before the inclination at which a car frame is collided with a landing lock switch during the car elevating/lowering operation by using a car inclination detector capable of detecting the inclination of the car with a simple structure, and preventing a lock-in trouble in the car in advance by eliminating the inclination of the car without using any system on a large scale. SOLUTION: The elevator device comprises a car 6 suspended by a main rope 5 and arranged in a hoistway in an elevating/lowering manner, a car inclination detector 13A arranged on an upper outer wall surface of the car to detect that the car is inclined by the predetermined angle, a reporting means 12 for promoting uniform ride to passengers in the car, and an elevator control device for promoting uniform ride to the passengers by the reporting means by allowing the car to be landed on a closest floor when it is determined that the car is inclined by the predetermined angle based on the output from the car inclination detector.
