PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint forming method capable of maintaining aesthetic performance of a decorative surface over a long period by preventing pollution of a joint part of particularly easily gathering a pollutant in the decorative surface including a joint. SOLUTION: This joint forming method is characterized by including a process of setting an inclination of a joint lower edge part in the horizontal direction to an acute angle when finishing the decorative surface having a joint structure by using a decorative painting material, and a process of applying a finish coating material having a contact angle of 70 degrees or less to water of a forming coating film to at least the joint lower edge part.
