<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image generation system or the like which makes the various expressions of the contour line of an object possible. <P>SOLUTION: The image generation system comprises a source image generation part for generating a source image by drawing an object, a contour color reference image generation part for plotting the object by a plotting color set for each object and generating a contour color reference image for referring to the contour color of the object, a contour detection image generation part for generating a contour detection image for detecting the contour of the object, and a contour line plotting part for plotting the contour line of the object. The contour line plotting part extracts the contour of the object on the basis of the contour detection image and plots the contour line on the extracted contour of the object by the contour color referred to by the contour color reference image.
