PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of restraining an increase in the costs of components and, at the same time, achieving the control of the heating range of a heating means in accordance with the size of a transfer material by a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The fixing device 1 includes: a pressure roller 6 as a fixing member for fixing an unfixed image onto a transfer material; a heater 13 for heating the pressure roller 6; sleeves 10 and 11 disposed in the middle and both ends of the heater 13 in the axial direction thereof, and a pressing member 12 for pressing the sleeves 10 and 11 against the pressure roller 6. In the case of a small-sized transfer material, the pressing member 12 presses only the sleeve 10 in the middle of the heater 13 against the pressure roller 6. In the case of a large-sized transfer material, the pressing member 12 presses the sleeve 10 in the middle of the heater 13 and the sleeves 11 at both ends thereof against the pressure roller 6.
