FLAT DISPLAY DEVICE, SPACER, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat display device that can reduce relative luminance changes in pixels along spacers, a spacer for use in a flat display device, and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: The flat display device has the spacer 140 positioned between a first panel and a second panel and holds the space between the first panel and the second panel under vacuum. The spacer 140 comprises a spacer base 140A and antistatic films 140B formed on sides of the spacer base 140A. The spacer base 140A is made of a ceramic material with conductive particles dispersed. The proportion of the conductive particles per unit area of the sides of the spacer base 140A is lower than the proportion of the conductive particles per unit area of the interior of the spacer base 140A.
